Grand, elegant and timelessly glamorous, Café Royal has been restored to its former decadence. First opened in 1865, the hotel has long been a centre for London's arbiters of fashion. Writers and artists including Oscar Wilde and Aubrey Beardsley were regular visitors and Arthur Conan Doyle, H G Wells, George Bernard Shaw, Rudyard Kipling, W B Yeats, Walter Sickert and James McNeill Whistler were all patrons.
Now restored to its former opulence, Café Royal comprises 104 decadent rooms, 55 suites, 5 restaurants / bars and a luxury spa and wellbeing centre. Café Royal, Regent Street is the ultimate spot for luxury and timeless extravagance.
The Bar:
Inspired by the original Café Royal Cocktail Book compiled in 1937, the Bar at Café Royal is a vibrant cocktail destination for both hotel guests and Londoners.
The cocktail list features heritage cocktails alongside classic favourites and a selection of small dining plates. The Bar also revives absinthe in memory of Oscar Wilde (famed patron) infusing cocktails with the Green Fairy or serving shots straight up traditionally from the steady drizzle of the absinthe fountain.
The perfect destination for those from East and West, The Bar at Café Royal is a unique addition to London. For more information please call +44 (0)20 7406 3311 or email thebar@hotelcaferoyal.com
