Regent Street Motor Show
Saturday 2 November saw Regent Street host its annual Motor show once more and this year, the event was the biggest it has ever been. This time around, Regent Street celebrated 50 years of the Porsche 911 as well as Aston Martin’s 100 year anniversary.
This is the largest free motor show in the UK. Over 300 vehicles were in attendance - ranging from classic automobiles of the Victorian age right up to the very latest 'super' cars of today - on display from Oxford Circus to Piccadilly Circus. That's 125 years of motoring history displayed along the street. The entire street was closed to traffic from 10am - 4pm, giving you the chance to get up close and personal with your favourite motors.
As well as a special showcase which celebrates 50 years of the Porsche 911 and 100 years of the Aston Martin Marque, BMW and Renault also offered visitors a close up of their very latest models.
A great round off to an exciting weekend happened on the Sunday following the Regent Street Motor Show. Pre 1905 veteran cars will be driving from Regent Street all the way to Brighton, adding a real sense of motoring history to the occasion.
“The annual Regent Street Motor Show is a truly unique event,” said Ben Cussons, Chairman of the Royal Automobile Club Motoring Committee. “It is not only set in one of the world’s most famous shopping streets right in the heart of London’s buzzing West End but, featuring such a comprehensive collection of amazing cars, also provides a truly amazing spectacle.”
