Join the extravaganza on 7 November 2006 as the Regent Street Christmas Lights are switched on, marking the start of the Christmas Shopping season. The official sponsor of the Regent Street Christmas lights is the Dreamworks/Aardman feature film “Flushed Away.” The latest in a line of features from the creators of Oscar®-winning hits “Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit” and “Shrek.”
The lights will depict characters from the new Dreamworks/Aardman feature “Flushed Away” featuring the voices of film stars Kate Winslet, Ian Mckellen and Hugh Jackman.
“Flushed Away”, tells the story of a pampered pet mouse who is flushed down the toilet from his penthouse apartment in West End beneath the streets of London, where he has to learn a whole new way of life. The film also stars the voices of Andy Serkis, Bill Nighy, Jean Reno and Eastenders star Shane Richie.
On Tuesday 7 November, the Christmas lights will be switched on by three of the actors that voiced the characters; Ian McKellen (Toad), Andy Sirkis (Spike) and Shane Richie (Sid), at the flagship store of the British luxury fashion label, Aquascutum at 6.00pm. Make sure you get there early to enjoy the atmosphere.
Capital Radio will also be broadcasting live from Regent Street from 4:00pm and there will be a spectacular firework display to celebrate the event.!
