After what seems like a lifetime of waiting, Anthropologie has finally opened its doors.

October 23 2009 saw the torturous wait come to an end as all our dreams came true.

Beautiful, individual garments from nightwear to winter coats adorn clothing rails, with jewellery, bedding, interior accessories and Christmas decorations like which you've never seen before... And that's before we've mentioned the wall adorned with live plants, kept alive with rainwater and UV lighting!

More like a collection of independent boutiques than an international chain store, the Anthropologie store reflects the nature and history of the Regent Street site, incorporating reclaimed materials and featuring the work of local artists and artisans. The largest purveyor of decorative antiques and found objects in the United States, these will also have a major presence in the Regent Street store.

A long time favourite of Europeans returning from America, the announcement a few months ago that the store was to set up shop in Regent Street, was met with much excitement.

Anthropologie say of the arrival:
