Where is Regent Street?
Regent Street is situated in the heart of London's West End, in the City of Westminster. The street runs north to south, from Oxford Circus at the north end to Piccadilly Circus at the south end.


Where is the nearest tube?
Oxford Circus is situated at the northern end of Regent Street, and Piccadilly Circus at the southern end. Do not be confused by Regent's Park underground station which is actually 20 minutes north of Regent Street.


What are the opening times of the shops on Regent Street?
The majority of shops open at 10am. Closing times vary from 6pm onwards.

When are the Regent Street Christmas Lights switched on?

When was Regent Street built?
Regent Street was completed in 1825, to a grand design by the architect John Nash. It was completely rebuilt by 1927, and the only surviving Nash building is the Church of All Soul's, mentioned below.

Where is the nearest Church to Regent Street?
All Souls Church in Langham Place is situated just off Upper Regent Street, opposite the Langham Hilton Hotel. A famous local landmark, the church dates from 1824, and is open to visitors. Information on services is available at

Are there any heel bars or shoe menders on Regent Street?
There is a heel bar in Oxford Circus underground, at the Argyll Street exit. At the southern end head for Tony's Heel Bar, just off Regent Street at 5 Air Street. There is a shoeshine stand on Regent Street, at the junction of Regent Street and Gant Street. (Between Jaeger and Gap)
