Festive Feasts

It’s that time already and Christmas will soon be upon us. You might laugh, but October is almost here and with that comes Christmas shopping (for the organised among us) and before we know it November will be here and everywhere will be booked up for those Christmas parties. Believe me, it’s best to plan now.

So what choice is there on Regent Street this year? Plenty thankfully, making sure that you and your colleagues, families and friends having a fantastic time is certainly taken care of. Now you just need to take your pick from some of the finest eateries London has to offer...

First up is Café Royal, home to some of the best parties over the last one hundred and forty years, opening its doors for everyone from Oscar Wilde to David Bowie and home to auctions, charity balls, boxing matches and of course the occasional celebrity filled movie premier after party. You too can party like the famous by choosing to have your Christmas ‘do’ at the Café Royal. Choose from one of their three menus, complete with pre-dinner packages and drink options, to ensure that you are well looked after from the moment you arrive until the second you leave (when the doorman will happily find you a cab if you’ve over-indulged)…

Cream of Celeriac and Chestnut soup, Fillet of Beef with Panache of Roast Vegetables and Cinnamon Crème Brulee wit Mullet Fruit Compote are just a few examples of the delights awaiting those who choose to dine at the Café Royal this Christmas. Prices range from £50 per person to £65 per head for the set dinner menus, with pre-dinner options of £12 per person to enjoy house wine, beer and soft drinks for half an hour prior to your meal. During the meal, why not take advantage of the beverage packages, only £20 for a bottle of wine and mineral water, making sure you have everything you could possibly need at the table―minus the mistletoe of course!

Can’t decide between casual comfort or refined elegance for your Christmas party surroundings? If so, then The Terrace at Le Meridien is the perfect choice for your bash. Here, you will find traditional fine dining in a setting of natural light, classic stone pillars and contemporary design.

For dinner, you have the choice between the Cured Salmon with a Lime Avocado Mousse, Poached Seafood, Saffron and Potato Broth, finishing off with Warm Pecan Pie and Orange Sorbet… just a small selection of the food on offer across three set menus ranging from £38 to £48. Like Café Royal, a drinks package is available at £12 per person, with table décor, personal menu and party favours all inclusive.

Also on offer on this Christmas season is The Heights restaurant at Saint Georges Hotel. Located on the fithteenth floor and overlooking the stunning views of the capital's West End through its wall of windows. The Heights can cater for parties of up to 100 people eating, drinking and dancing the night away. On the food front, choose from  a selection of 3 set menus that include, among other things, Wild Mushroom Soup laced with Whisky cream, Winter Squash and Pinenut Risotto fininshing off with Iced Vanilla and Chestnut Pavlova. Prices range from £38 to £42 per head.

Tempted? Can’t decide? Why not book both? One for work, and one for family and friends. It’s Christmas after all―not that we need an excuse...
