National Vegetarian Week at Tibits

The week of 18-24 May is National Vegetarian Week, with tibits at the ready to help you mark the occasion with style.

Tibits, the place to get your five-a-day, has attracted the likes of singer Leona Lewis, model Lisa Snowdon and actress Gina McKee since it first arrived in Britain in October 2008 - not to mention vegetarian model Juliet (pictured).

Launching National Vegetarian Week at Tibits on Monday 18 May, Juliet was the perfect example of how much a Vegetarian diet can benefit the body. The beauty of tibits is that the popularity of the restaurant belies its niche place in the market. Regarded as more of a healthy choice for all rather than an option solely for vegetarians, tibits is the perfect place to get your five-a-day.

Harley Street nutritionist to tibits, Yvonne Bishop-Weston says:

"The UK National Diet and Nutrition Surveys have found that less than 15% of the population eat the NHS recommended five portions of fruit per day. With tibits wide and delicious selection of inspirational dishes, eating more portions of fruit and vegetables has rarely been easier or more enjoyable."

Tibits are set to mark National Vegetarian Week with a selection of tempting dishes that even the most devoted meat lover won't be able to resist...

Beginning with the 'Monday Cleansing Platter', full of goodness to combat the weekend excess, Tuesday will bring the 'Fitness Plate', with spiced chick pea and coriander salad with an energising ginger, carrot and apple juice to fuel that visit to the gym.

For more fun mid-week, try the 'Wednesday Beauty Plate' for fun with the girls - fun in the form of blackcurrant juice, fresh peas, peppermint and red pepper salad with lentil dahl and fruit salad for dessert. Treat yourself to a glass of wine too with the excuse that the organic option is full of antioxidants!

Thursday is the 'Date Plate', with a bit of tutti frutti and tiramusu, complete with two spoons to get you in that romantic mood...

And that's just the start, with 'Party Plates' with chocolate cream and 'Shop Til' You Drop Plates' to see you through the weekend...

If it all sounds too good to be true, then rest assured there is the chance to be sinful too, with sweet potato curry and herby falafel...

After all, they do say a little of what you fancy does you the world of good...
