Silk restaurant can be found within The Courthouse Hotel Doubletree by Hilton. This five-star hotel opened in June 2005 opposite Liberty on Great Marlborough Street, and simply ooozes flamboyant sophistication. Daring design draws lavish inspiration from the building’s previous incarnation as the country’s second oldest magistrate’s court, temporary abode at various intervals to such well known names as Napolean III, John Lennon, Oscar Wilde, Keith Richards and Sir Mick Jagger.
Silk is the architectural focal point of the ground floor, having been converted from the old number One court. Silk has also been awarded the “Recommended Restaurant” accolade from Michelin Guide 2008 edition. The room is lit by its huge vaulted glass ceiling and is framed by the original English Oak panelling. The Judges bench, dock and witness stand have been kept in their original setting and are notable features of the restaurant.
Silk provides exemplary dishes from the different cuisines of Thailand, China and India with a option of a la carte and tasting menus.
