Living Room interior

The Living Room W1, 3-9 Heddon Street

About The Living Room W1
The Living Room W1
opened  in the former Post Office, made famous by its appearance on the cover of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars album.

Interior architect Shideh Shaygan of Shaygan Interior Architecture has designed a dramatic ‘home but not as you know it’ environment and well known cookery writer and broadcaster Hugo Arnold has consulted on the menu alongside Executive Head Chef for the group John Branagan. The ground floor boasts a lounge bar and relaxed dining area whilst the first floor will house a more formal dining room with private dining options.

From the furniture to the décor, every detail has been considered to create an innovative fusion of homely surroundings inspired with an out of home and contemporary twist.

On the ground floor, the rear of the venue is framed by a dramatic bar 17 metres long and 7 metres high, housing a state of the art drinks cabinet. Shideh Shaygan has given an imaginative solution to create a traditional spin to the classic fireplace, with a ‘wall of fire’ dividing the front informal dining area and lounge bar behind. The wall is made from a range of box shelving featuring beautiful burning candles.

A Georgian inspired staircase leads up to the first floor restaurant and down to the basement level where there are males and female WCs with a lobby containing a large unisex washbasin unit.
