The clocks have turned back an hour and the days are noticeably dimming, but this is quite apt to be honest, as fashion this autumn/winter is decidedly darker too.

This season, you don’t have to restrict your dark, sexy side to the night of Halloween. With lace a major trend for the season ahead, the possibilities are endless when it comes to bringing out your inner dark, gothic style queen diva.

In fact, the combination of black lace and prim Victorian styles means that you can look chic and sexy at the same time, rather reminiscent of Parisian style... always a winning look.

Think film noir as you don the Elizabeth Taylor-esque black and white lace dress from Karen Millen, teaming with dark red lipstick for that perfect femme fatale look.

For the more innocent among you, keep it cheeky with a sheer blouse from Oasis, remembering to pop a cami underneath in order to spare your blushes. Victorian gothic elegance is the order of the day at Jaeger, whilst the more modern day goth may prefer the lace leggings from Topshop...
