Early Bird Shopping Spree

November 28 saw Regent Street's flagship stores throw open their doors at 7am, to welcome shoppers eager to beat the Christmas rush.
Hailed as a Godsend to those with more money than time, several of the West End's most popular stores offered coffee and pastries as busy shoppers picked up a present or two on the way to the office.
For those who have a long list of gifts to buy but are minus the bulging wallet, discounts were offered in stores. Jaeger, Topshop, Apple, Gap, Zavvi, Austin Reed, Esprit, Hamleys and Liberty were all in on the act - the latter offering free Starbucks on the door, with the Town Crier to the Mayor of London in attendance to welcome Londoners and tourists alike.
Around the corner at Banana Republic, London Today were filming the activity in store... so if you were there, you may have finished your Christmas shopping, and made your television debut at the same time. Not bad for 7am. For those who were still tucked up in bed, don't worry, you have until next year to get ready for your close up.
