Easy Breezy

Pick up any magazine at present and the fashion pages are simply brimming with dazzling photographs from celebrities at Cannes. There for the recent annual film festival, the red carpet wasn't the only direction in which our attention was focused, with daywear on a yacht offering up another chance to impress the paparazzi... and us.

Whilst Britain may not yet be enjoying the temperatures of the French Riviera, we have at least caught a glimpse of such heights in heat. And, if the rumour mill is to be believed, we can expect a lot more where that came from before the summer is out...

To ensure you reach as high a height in fashion as we hope to in the heat, be sure to choose a bright and breezy number this year - ensuring you keep your body cool, as well as your style.

When it comes to summer, it's impossible to go wrong with a floral print. We love this Zara option, adorned with light pink and green printed flowers. White is ideal for reflecting the heat... whilst at the same time attracting attention to a tan.

For something a little more trendy than classic, this French Connection playsuit is perfect all round in the summer. The halter neck option allows the sun to warm your back, whilst the flowing lower half will help you feel the breeze. Frolic on the beach and you'll look very Marilyn Monroe.

Speaking of trendy, pop group 'The Saturdays' were recently pictured dressed in Jaeger London, so join the girls by draping on this cream top with orange swirl pattern. The loose fit is perfect to keep you relaxed in the summer heat, as is the lemon coloured, summer inspired butterfly top from Esprit.

One staple for the summer is of course denim. If you haven't added a few items to wardrobe yet, look no further than Mango, with this simple, classic a-line dress. With low v-neck and full skirt, it's the perfect base to go mad on the accessories! We're imagining it teamed with a statement necklace.

For 'hot' eveningwear, head to Topshop. The one-stop-shop for beachwear, the delights of this fashion giant don't stop there in the summer months. This delicate and dainty layered skirt with silver polka dots, has made its way right to the top of our wish list.

We'd say we'd race you there, but then we might find it hard to stay cool...
