Levi’s® is once again taking inspiration from it’s archives, with the launch of a limited edition re-release of the iconic 201® jean.
First launched in the 1890s, the 201® was a best selling style up until World War II. The highly sought after 201® will now be available within Levi’s® Red Tab® collection for the first time ever.
The new 201® jean has its roots embedded in Levi’s history of producing industrial work wear, forming part of Levi’s® 1-Pocket capsule collection this season.
The limited edition range features functional and durable design details, staying true to its origins of traditional work wear garments whilst embracing a more modern, street inspired style.
The Type 2 Trucker completes the exclusive range and features 1 pocket and pleat front design finishes.
Recreated in three distinctive denim washes the 201® jeans will feature original design details including a cinch back, exposed rivets and the famous crotch rivet.
The three unique washes consist of Indigo Hope, a premium raw denim, Blue Collar Dark, a slightly stonewashed finish and Blue Collar Light, a worn in and heavily stone washed finish. The Type 2 Trucker will also be available in two of these distinctive washes.
Now available in store, to celebrate the launch an original 201® from 1893 has been flown over from the Levi’s® archive in San Francisco and is being showcased within a glass vault in Levi’s® newly re-crafted flagship
store.
