Party Pieces

Guest lists are filling up and champagne corks are popping, signalling the start of London’s festive party season.

At this time of the year, Regent Street is even more alive than usual with the buzz of seasonal cheer. While the issue of ensuring you have the hottest tickets in town is always worth thinking about, this is nothing compared to finding the hottest party dress that money can buy…

With its abundance of big name brands and flagship stores, Regent Street is not only the ideal place to party, but the perfect place to party shop. Pay homage to the festive theme with a touch of sequins and sparkles, many of which can be found by popping into French Connection or Oasis for a glittering cocktail gown.  At Karen Millen, sparkles are combined with the wet look trend - also spotted at Jaeger in maxi style - ensuring you're completely 'in vogue'.

Of course, no party wardrobe would be complete without the classic little black dress, but why not add a twist with a funky feathery number from H&M? Or, if you fancy yourself as something of a trendsetter, opt for the long line tuxedo jacket by Antipodium at Liberty. Team with absolutely nothing except a pair of opaques, and sexy red... or maybe green shoes (festive colours of course), for that little black dress with a twist.

Thinking of festive colours... the deep red tribal dress from Jaeger has a beautiful style all of its own with a unique hemline, while the emerald green Piped Ekland dress from Hobbs is simple elegance. The Annelie dress from Coast has a shimmering sheen finish, and is reminiscent of one of the most famous looks from one of this year's most stylish films, Sex and the City.

Speaking of style, the harlequin pattern looks to be influential this season, with Eley Kishimoto and Topshop paying homage to the diamond design. With vibrant colours and a splash of sequins, these are diamonds that will certainly make you sparkle on the dancefloor... no doubt at the most glittering party in town.
