Editor's Tip:

When embracing colour, try to keep accessories to muted tones to help maximise that bright bold hue.

Spring Fashion Fever

Winter couldn’t last forever thank goodness, and now with April here, the cold is almost well and truly behind us. Already this year we’ve had one or two gloriously sunny weekends – a taste of things to come we hope, especially given that British summertime is officially here according to the calendar. We may have begrudged losing that extra hours sleep as the clocks moved forward, but we’re already loving the longer days… not to mention the spring/summer fashion now available on Regent Street…

After the months of gloom, the most appealing thing about fashion this season is the colour. Vibrant, neon hues were all over the catwalks - and now they can be in your wardrobe too!

Luckily for Regent Street shoppers, many of those London Fashion Week looks have jumped straight from the catwalk into some of our favourite stores. Aquascutum and Jaeger both embraced colour in their new season collections, opting for vivid yellow and hot pink body cons and lime green and orange floaty dresses respectively. Not to be outdone, Burberry have gone for dazzling fuschia tones, with a gorgeous summer dress with matching bow detail and full, swishing skirt.

Notably, the dress is big this season. Always a summer staple, this year in particular, many a magazine has pointed to the garment in many a fashion feature, inspired by hit romantic comedy ’27 dresses’. Set to be one of the big hits of the summer, high street stores appear to have taken note, with cute numbers in abundance to choose from, coming in all shapes, sizes… and colours.

Favourites here at RSO include a bright orange shirtdress from Karen Millen – very Elizabeth Taylor when teamed with large sunnies. The bright blue Heka dress from Ted Baker also has a touch of Audrey Hepburn about it, with the bright green RiRi dress from Coast and its rara style skirt already making us want to join in the Spanish style dancing, due to take place on Regent Street this May 25…

Just think, if these colours don’t get us noticed… then that certainly will.
