The Quadrant
In January 2004, The Crown Estate submitted
a series of planning applications to redevelop and revitalise
The Quadrant in the area around the famous Regent Street curve.
These applications were for;
- 83-97 Regent Street
- Café Royal
- Quadrant House
- Regent Palace Hotel and Annex
In July 2004, Westminster's Planning Committee
considered the proposals and they made a number of suggestions
that The Crown Estate were asked to consider before re-submitting
for formal planning consent.
The committee also asked that the proposals
for the west side of Regent Street (i.e. 83-97 Regent Street)
be de-coupled from those for the east side and submitted
separately.
Since this meeting, The Crown Estate has been
working with Westminster planning officers and other key
stakeholders in developing plans for The Quadrant.
At the end of October 2004, the plans for
83-97 Regent Street were resubmitted and received planning
approval in December 2004. We expect to resubmit the plans
for the east side of Regent Street in summer 2005.
