Lumiere London Light Festival
Thursday 14th January - Sunday 17th January
In January 2016 Regent Street was illuminated as Lumiere arrived in London. Lumiere is an iconic light festival that originated in Durham and having been hugely successful, travelled to London. See all the pictures here.
Chinese New Year on Regent Street
Sunday 14th February
Regent Street celebrated Chinese New Year 2016 with the ancient tradition of a Wishing Tree. Visitors to the street had the opportunity to meet Chinese calligraphers who wrote wishes in beautiful traditional lettering to hang on the tree and also to take away as a keepsake. To celebrate the Year of the Monkey, none other than the Monkey King himself visited the street with exclusive giveaways.
Gumball 3000 on Regent Street
Monday 2nd May - Traffic Free
The iconic Gumball 3000 Rally cars returned to Regent Street for an overnight pit stop on their way from Dublin to Budapest. During the day Regent Street became traffic free and celebrated the history of motoring with displays of cars from the past present and future. The rally cars set off for Dover early on Tuesday morning to continue their five day journey to Budapest.
July 2016 saw the glorious return of our Regent Street ‘Summer Streets’ for the fourth year. Every Sunday from 3rd – 24th July, we became a traffic free street, and under blue summery skies visitors enjoyed an exciting programme of games, talks, pop-ups, shows and offers from our world class partners, shops, restaurants and bars. RIBA Regent Street Windows Project
Monday 5th September - Sunday 25th September
Held every year, the RIBA Regent Street Windows Project, partners specially selected architects with the visual merchandisers of some of the restaurants and stores in Regent Street to create stunning architectural window displays to coincide with London Fashion Week.
NFL on Regent Street
Saturday 1st October - Traffic Free
An event for all American Football fans, NFL on Regent Street kicks off the NFL’s international series and transforms the street into an All-American Football Zone, filled with cheerleaders, mini pitches, photo opportunities and appearances from some of the NFL players.
Regent Street Motor Show on Regent Street
Saturday 5th November - Traffic Free
This annual traffic free event is the UK’s largest free-to-view Motor Show. Many of the veteran cars taking part in the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run on Sunday 6th November will be on display together with some of the pioneering motor cars of the 19th, 20th and 21st century.
Switch On of the Regent Street Christmas Lights
Thursday 17th November - Traffic Free
Regent Street was the first to introduce Christmas Lights to the West End in 1954. Now the event signals the start of Christmas shopping in Regent Street and attracts thousands of visitors. The celebrity switch on will be at approximately 6pm.
Hamleys Christmas Toy Parade on Regent Street

Following the success of the first ever Hamleys Christmas Toy Parade on Regent Street in 2015, the mile of style will be transformed into a traffic-free all-day extravaganza for the biggest Hamleys Toy Parade and ‘Character Meet and Greet’ London has ever seen.
