LIBERTY OR ANARCHY: REGENT STREET DOES PUNK

To mark the milestone of the 40th anniversary of punk, Liberty London is celebrating as its shopfront is transformed by London street artist, Endless.

The month of August sees Liberty London paying homage to punk, with its ‘In Your Face’ window display, which is a one-of-a-kind creation by Endless. The artwork combines a mix of traditional and contemporary graffiti techniques and is awash with bursting colour and era-defining imagery. The windows feature Union Jacks and mohawks; icons of the punk genre.

The collaboration with Endless reflects what was seen on the AW16 catwalks at Paris Fashion Week and is already filtering onto the streets of London this season, as the androgynous punk scene comes back into style. Liberty has embraced the theme in-store, with punk-inspired pieces available in many of its departments.

Liberty is an iconic London fashion house that has embraced change and fashion throughout the years. This window takeover is a fitting tribute to the birth of the punk movement, 40 years ago, when the pavements outside the store saw the Sex Pistols entertaining and shocking shoppers in equal measure. Today, the image of Endless’ graffiti display in Liberty’s windows revives that rebellious spirit and is a must-see this month.

Witness this true punk revival in store until August 27th 2016.
