Sep222019

We’re excited to join the Mayor of London’s Car Free Day in a mission to tackle air pollution.

At Regent Street, we’re excited to join the Mayor of London’s mission to tackle air pollution and are proud to announce that we will be the only road in London’s West End to be fully closed for Car Free Day on Sunday 22nd September. We’ll be going car free in a bid to reduce emissions and create an opportunity for visitors to experience more of the capital city.

Air pollution is one of the biggest health emergencies of our generation, with more than two million Londoners living in areas that exceed legal limits for NO2, including more than 400,000 children under the age of 18. Car Free Day is marked across the world and the Mayor hopes over 150,000 Londoners will join in to create the change needed to lower air emissions.

Take some time to experience a traffic-free Regent Street on the 22nd and enjoy visiting our shopping, wellness, drinking and dining destinations. The length of Regent Street, from Oxford Circus to Piccadilly Circus, will be closed to all traffic from 8am to 8pm. Relax and enjoy the car free environment, with deck chairs and greenery located throughout the street.

Leave the cars and buses behind and join us for London’s largest car-free day next Sunday.
