In celebration of The Royal Academy of Arts 250th Anniversary a series of artist commissioned flags will be displayed across the Regent Street and the West End.

To mark the momentous 250th year of The Royal Academy of Arts (RA), the RA’s highly regarded annual Summer Exhibition will spill out on to Regent Street and beyond this summer.

Four noted artists and Royal Academicians - Rose Wylie, Grayson Perry, Cornelia Parker and Joe Tilson - have been set the task of decorating the streets to celebrate art and culture in London. An installation of over 200 flags will be displayed throughout the summer, making it the most expansive Summer Exhibition in the RA’s 250 year history.

From 4th June, Regent Street will be home to 100 of these flags in total, designed by Joe Tilson, making it the best place to view the installation.

The project hopes to inspire and delight Londoners and visitors alike and showcase the creativity of one of the world’s most vibrant cities.
