Guest Editor's Letter: Rebecca Seal

This March we welcome restaurant reviewer, cookbook creator and Sunday Brunch presenter, Rebecca Seal, as our Guest Editor. Look out for her favourite places to eat and the latest foodie news.

“For the fifteen years I've lived in London, Regent Street and the streets which knit their way across and around it have often tempted me into having more fun than I probably should. One of the biggest perks of writing about bars and restaurants is being invited to their parties; many of the best take place here – from tiny, elegant, civilised wine-tasting gatherings to huge, decadent happenings – where some truly great restaurants have tucked themselves in among the shops.

When I was a little girl, catching the bus to Marble Arch from Oxford for a day trip in the holidays, I thought Regent Street was all about its shops, places like Hamleys and, as I got older, Liberty (for looking) and H&M (for buying). Today, I'm lured here more by the food than by the still wonderful shopping – by garlicky escargots or endive and roquefort salad at Brasserie Zedel, by Momo's famous pastilla pastry, stuffed with spiced wood pigeon, or by Hawksmoor's perfectly hung steaks.

Over the next month, I'm going to be sharing some of my favourite places to eat and drink around Regent Street along with my recommended menu picks. Whether you want Eggs Benedict served under a blanket of hollandaise, afternoon tea perched on a pretty cake stand or a fabulous cocktail, I can tell you just where to go."
