London's best Easter eggs of 2024

Our Easter egg guide is choc-full of delicious options

As Easter weekend hops closer, we put our eggs-pert opinion to the test to find the best Easter treats across Regent Street and St James’s. Whether you’re shopping for yourself, someone special, or planning the cherished annual Easter egg hunt, we’ve got an egg-ceptional selection of Easter eggs and gifts for you.

Sweetest chocolate Easter bunny

If you’re looking for sustain-nibble chocolate treats this Easter, start at Läderach – a short hop from Oxford Street Tube station. Ready for Easter weekend, this celebrated Swiss chocolatier has fashioned two adorable chocolate characters: take home Easter bunny Lou or Cleo from its Easter chocolate selection in an assortment of flavours, including the usual white, milk and dark chocolate, as well as raspberry and almond.

The hand-moulded Milk Chocolate Easter Bunny from Fortnum & Mason also jumps straight to the top of our list as a truly memorable Easter gift. Is it real or is it chocolate? This life-like chocolate bunny nestled inside its gift box is almost too adorable to eat.

Best large Easter egg

We pricked up our bunny ears when we heard about the opulent Ostrich Eggs at Hotel Chocolat, which may be the biggest we’ve seen. It’s not just the pure size of them – the thicker than average shell and hidden chocolates will satisfy even the strongest sweet tooth. For the ultimate Easter treat, we recommend the Patisserie egg, filled with a tiny chocolate macaron, carrot cake truffle, and other classic dessert-inspired chocolates.

Our favourite children's Easter eggs

Spark your children's imagination with Hotel Chocolat’s chick-shaped Elizapeck Hollow egg or characterful Sunny Side Up truffles featuring funny faces.

Dazzle them with Whole Foods Market's vegan rainbow sprinkles chocolate egg or bring a spark of entertainment to the little ones’ Easter celebration with these colourful creations from Venchi, both in milk and dark chocolate eggs, complete with a cute little toy or game. For even more Easter fun, try Whole Foods Market's Play in Choc rabbit gift set.

Fill your basket with these sweet choices

Inspired by real birds eggs, it’ll be a scramble to find these lifelike Speckled Eggs from Hotel Chocolat in the garden this year. Or why not plan some free range Easter egg hunting fun with the eggs from Hettie's Wacky Hen House.

Alternatively, add a pop of colour to Easter egg trails with Fortnum & Mason's foil-covered mini eggs or Prestat's vibrant Rainbow Sachet – happy hunting!

Easter hampers to hunt down

If you pick up one of Fortnum & Mason's Easter hampers, the whole family will be hopping for joy. Inside these iconic hampers you’ll find a whole host of egg-citing treats; from chocolate and biscuits to floral teas and even some wine for the adults if you fancy a tipple. Or choose from one of carpo's many elegant hampers full of chocolate, nuts and coffee treats.

Venchi’s beautifully decorated Spring hatbox is the perfect hamper alternative, choc-full of delicious assorted chocolates.

Unusual Easter chocolate gifts

Hotel Chocolat has a sandwich meal deal we can get behind. Choose two of its decadent Easter sandwiches for £20. Make ours the Lamb and Mint Chocolate Easter Sandwich. Another special Easter twist on a savoury snack that’s worth sampling is Fortnum & Mason’s Praline Scotch Egg.

For an Easter egg that’s fit for a king, visit Royal Warrant holder, Prestat, in Princes Arcade. Its Pink Marc de Champagne Easter Egg makes a luxurious gift this spring.

Top vegan Easter treats

When it comes to plant-based creations, we're obsessed with Läderach’s vegan cashew slab and we’re going nuts over Fortnum & Mason’s moreish Sicilian Almond and Dark Chocolate egg.

Pick up an Easter treat that everyone can enjoy at Whole Foods Market with its vegan and gluten free Booja Booja hazlenut crunch truffle egg. Filled with delicious truffles, the beautiful exterior egg is created using paper mache with a painted, varnish finish so each design is slightly different and unique.

Gluten-free treats

For gluten-free goodness, Prestat’s The Pink Everest won’t disappoint. Unwrap a bar of dark chocolate deliciousness delicately infused with pink Himalayan salt. Among Venchi’s gluten-free options, the Salted White Chocolate Egg is sure to delight with its white chocolate outer shell and hazelnuts, pistachios and almonds studded like diamonds on the inside.

Ever eager to ensure that no one is left out of the celebrations, Fortnum and Mason have also created a hamper packed full of gluten-free delights to include bubbles, truffles, crumbly biscuit, sweet spreads and much more.

Alternative Easter egg gifts

If chocolate’s not their thing, the cheese gift selections from cheesemongers Paxton and Whitfield would make a thoughtful seasonal gift. Or embrace your inner bunny and nibble on these delicate carrot iced biscuits from Fortnum and Mason.

Other egg-cellent ideas include Anthropologie’s pretty egg-shaped glass candles; Hotel Chocolat's Velvetiser, an at-home hot chocolate machine so that they can have blissful hot chocolate on tap; and the Chic Egg Cup from Liberty.

Plan more Easter treats on Regent Street with these free things to do in the neighbourhood, or try your hand at Hotel Cafe Royal's phenomenal hot cross bun recipe.
