Back by popular demand for 2018, Speaker Series presents a number of bookable talks and seminars from leaders in the fashion and design world, complimentary of Regent Street.

Fashionistas will be pleased to hear that Regent Street will once again be home to a series of events created to celebrate London’s style scene. Those interested in hearing from the experts can opt to attend one of our Speaker Series events below, where industry stalwarts and influencers will be discussing their fashion and design journeys, as well as current inspirations and hot topics in the industry.

Kathryn Davey Natural Dyes Workshop

Date: 12th September

Time: 6:00PM - 8:00PM

Join Kathryn Davey, a self-taught designer and natural dyer from Ireland for a dyeing workshop at tibits, Heddon Street.

Passionate about textiles, natural dyes and the integrity of true craftsmanship, Kathryn loves sharing the joy and magic of plant dyes with others and teaches natural dye workshops around the world. In this workshop you will learn the basics in natural dyeing with simple dye techniques, using ingredients readily available in your kitchen as well as working with Indigo and learning the ancient art of pattern making through Shibori. Katheryn will show you how to set up your own Indigo Vat & dye baths, prepare fabric for dyeing and demonstrate how to achieve the best results at home. Together you will explore various Shibori techniques including binding, clamping, and tying in order to create beautiful patterns naturally and sustainably.

All materials will be provided and you will leave with all the samples you make in class, as well as a few extra special surprises.

The workshop will be held at tibits, Heddon Street, with vegetarian and vegan canapes and cocktails served throughout the evening.

Finding Balance – Katherine Ormerod, Alex Stedman and Kelly Eastwood panel discussion

Join social media savvy experts Katherine Ormerod, author of ‘Why Social Media is Ruining Your Life’, Alex Stedmen, freelance fashion editor and founder of The Frugality, and Kelly Eastwood, style columnist and founder of The London Chatter, as they discuss how social media can be utilised to provide inspiration for fashion and design, but equally the importance of finding balance in a hyper connected world.

Accessories and Trends Talk & Workshop with Laura Jackson

Date: 25th September

Location: Tommy Hilfiger

Join TV presenter, broadcaster and style muse Laura Jackson for a lesson in accessorising. Hear Laura discuss the latest accessory trends and how best to introduce these into your everyday styling. Following an intimate talk and Q&A Laura will host an accessories workshop, giving you the chance create your own statement piece of jewellery.

Jan de Villeneuve in conversation with Lisa Armstrong

On 27th September, join Lisa Armstrong, Head of Fashion at The Daily Telegraph, will be in conversation with Jan de Villeneuve, the hugely-successful model who continues to rule the London Fashion scene at 74. They will be discussing whether age really is just a number and the how attitudes towards ageing have evolved within the industry.

Illustration class with Naomi Howarth

Date: 27th September

Time: 6:30PM - 8:00PM

Location: L’Occitane

Join Naomi Howarth, a London based designer and illustrator, at L’Occitane for an illustration class like no other. Taking inspiration from the natural ingredients used in L’Occitane products, such as lavender and rose, Naomi will teach you illustration techniques including colour mixing and brushstroke movements. Once you have mastered the basics, you’ll then work on designing your own stationary.

Following the class L’Occitane will be offering the attendees’ complimentary hand massages as well as exclusive in-store offers.
