Autumn wardrobe refresh

A chill in the air calls for a cosy seasonal refresh

As the cooler months set in, it’s time to layer up. But help is at hand… there are plenty of exciting Autumn/Winter 2022 collections from Regent Street and St James’s shops. Read on for our top tips this season.

Gymshark

The newest kid on the Regent Street block, sportswear brand Gymshark’s new collection makes a splash this season alongside everyday favourites to keep you warm, wherever you work out. Hot off the hangers, the Elevate woven jacket and Legacy hoodies look after the top half, while GS Power joggers and Retake knit joggers keep those leg muscles moving.

ACBC

Footwear start-up ACBC not only gives us the warm glow of buying sustainably, but its striking collection of on-trend trainers will raise one question: “can I have them all”? Pick up ECO Run sneakers crafted using vegan base materials, jute fibre laces and organic cotton lining. Or try a pair of Basket ’90s for size, made in collaboration with Italian fashion house Missoni.

Luca Faloni

Italian menswear label Luca Faloni is a candy shop of cashmere. Whether hoodies, cable knits, cardigans, roll necks or other styles, you can pick from multiple colours – meaning its fine to buy more than one, right? Must-haves for this season include a navy fine silk-cashmere mock neck, camel beige cashmere joggers and long-sleeved Brera Piqué polo shirts.

Armani Exchange

Head to Armani Exchange’s flagship store, which is overflowing with new arrivals this season. Pick up stylish items such as crepe mini dresses or a cloth caban coats, alongside everyday essentials such as stretch fabric leggings, soft yarn sweaters and knitted beanies. Its hooded recycled nylon parker and check print puff jacket are sure to keep the chill at bay until spring.

Arc’teryx Piccadilly

If you’re seeking that ultimate item to keep out the elements, look no further than Arc’teryx – the Canadian clothing brand forged from the mountains. Its Atom hoodies, Beta jackets and Gamma trousers are the perfect match for a Bird Trucker curved cap for that that rugged look that works just as well in the city.

UNIQLO

As the temperature drops, it can mean only one thing: time to stock up on UNIQLO’s essential ultra-light down outerwear – not least its Ultra-Light Down Relaxed Coat for a chilled, oversized look. Make use of wind-proof fleeces or soft fluffy joggers for those breezy days outside, and don’t leave without picking up a few underlayers made using heat-retaining HEATTECH technology to keep you toasty.

Theory

Pop next door and dress up or dress down with Theory’s new autumn/winter fashion collection. The classy Oversized Straight Blazer comes in multiple shades and is made in premium Merino wool sourced from Australia and New Zealand. For snug accessories, fall for a tactile Knit Bouché scarf and beanie; or for everyday wear, the Karenia sweater, Wrap trench coat or Justin shirt will keep you cosy in cashmere.

Snow Peak

Shared outdoor experiences is Snow Peak’s ethos. The Japanese company creates quality pieces that last, so invest in one of its new patchwork quilted NORAGI jackets inspired by traditional Japanese designs, a stylish Co/Pie knit cardigan or relaxed alpaca knit turtleneck jumper, and you’ll be set up for many seasons ahead.

Sirplus

The clue is in the name at Sirplus, a menswear company that uses surplus materials to craft exquisite designs. Among its seasonal collection are colourful lambswool sweaters, a navy and beige checked wool overcoat that mixes the classic and contemporary, and a Harris tweed Nehru jacket perfect for all occasions.

Princes Arcade

Wander to nearby St James’s for pretty Princes Arcade; a treasure trove of style, where you can pick up all sorts of one-of-a-kind seasonal wear from skilled craftspeople. Top picks include Indiana boots from Barker shoes, a Nomoli Hoodie from British African heritage brand Labrum, and Sage Brown’s cobalt blue patent Julia bag that will pop against wintry skies.
