During the autumn season, London’s street lights seem to glimmer with potential. As the evenings get shorter, there’s nothing better than dressing up for a date night in a cozy venue, or flocking to the finest cocktails bars the West End has to offer. So, whether you’re a local looking for a party with friends, or a traveller mapping out your weekend in the city, when it comes to London nightlife, we know all the hotspots.

Experience live cabaret

When passing Regent Street at night, you’ll likely hear Brasserie Zédel before you see it. Emitting a warm glow and the sounds of live cabaret, we promise you’ll be wowed by its Parisian, art deco interiors on stepping inside. Stop by for some tasty French cuisine, then stay for the entertainment of the Crazy Coqs showcase, offering fixtures of music, performance, and comedy - every night of the week! Check the calendar here to book in for a magical experience.

Raise a toast with friends

London nightlife boasts many bustling cocktail bars, but few are as iconic as Green Bar at Hotel Café Royal. With an outdoor terrace to wrap up beneath and take in the view, inside, mixologists pour colourful tipples amongst the chic interiors. So, whether you’re a fan of trialling new flavours, or prefer sticking to the classics, there’s a cocktail at Green Bar to suit everyone’s taste. Oh, and plenty of yummy small plates too, if oysters are your thing.

Party Punjabi style

Ambassadors Clubhouse brings Punjabi hospitality to the streets of Mayfair. Celebrating the spirit of Northern India and the region’s famous party mansions, The Ambassador’s club nights are simply not to be missed. Taking place just below the Michelin star restaurant, the AMBASSY dance floor invites in global DJs after hours, hosting exclusive parties in line with the cultural calendar. Events often sell out, so we recommend getting the group together early!

Plan an autumn date night

As far as autumn date nights go, Ristorante Frescobaldi in New Burlington Place should be at the top of your list this fall season. From wholesome risottos, to boards of antipasti - each perfect for pairing with your swill of choice - the restaurant’s Tuscan roots inspire not only its food menu, but its romantic ambience too. We can’t think of a better way to treat your loved one than with a helping of hearty Italian pasta. Except maybe some tiramisù for afters…

Warm up in a cosy pub

After a long day of shopping, why not wind down in a cozy, 18th century hideaway? Offering not only plush, maximalist interiors, but an impressive selection of craft ales, wines, and spritzes, The George is one of Fitzrovia’s finest spots to sip a pint while you learn about the pub’s history. To make a night of it, look out for the venue’s quiz nights and live band listings here, or book a table for dinner and tuck into one of London’s most talked about Sunday roasts.

Dance the night away

Nothing beats some escapism when the seasons turn. For this, we feel there’s nowhere better than inside the decorative walls of the Cuckoo Club on Swallow Street. Step into an immersive disco from the moment you walk in, where zebras hang from the ceiling, dancers kiki on the stage, and the drinks are free flowing all night. You’ll soon see why the space has become one of central London’s most well-known party bars.

Try the house ale

Capturing an old-timey spirit, whilst offering an impressive selection of craft beers, cask ales, and their famous house punch, The Wigmore is an ideal late-night spot to catch up with friends, just off Oxford Circus. After dark, the tavern’s bright green walls are toned down with mood lighting, showing live sport fixtures as à la carte plates are shared between tables, and more rave reviews are earned by the kitchen’s viral, three cheese toast.

Fiesta with a view

In the daytime, Madera at Treehouse London serves up some of London’s best tacos, with one of the city’s best views. Come night fall, things ramp up further as the atmosphere enlivens with events, where Saturday nights bring performances from firebreathers, DJs sets, and bottomless tequila. So, however you like your margarita, spicy or otherwise, Madera is the place to get the gang fired up for.

Have dinner with a loved one

If you’re all out of date night ideas, Hawksmoor is our favourite go-to when it comes to honest food in a cozy setting. After a spot of shopping on nearby Regent Street, why not pass the evening in as much style? Where you’ll catch up over prime cuts, gooey puddings, and a bottle of red to wash it all down. With plenty of tasty vegetarian options and lighter bites too, there’s nowhere more fitting for a wholesome, weekend treat. Sounds like heaven if you ask us.

Let your competitive streak out at Clays

Are you an activity lover, looking for an injection of competition on a night out? Look no further than Clays, our very own virtual clay pigeon shooting experience. Located just around the corner on Brewer Street, Clays combines state-of-the-art interactive technology with delicious cocktails, in a stylish 1930s Art Deco setting. Perfect for those looking to enjoy something a little different this autumn!

Still looking for inspiration? Make the most of the season and book a cosy date-night dinner or cocktails this October.
