Summer is almost here, and we heard London is the place to be this year. Find out what our team are planning and where we’ll be shopping, dining and celebrating throughout the season.

I’ll be spending lots of time with my family this summer, and the thing I’m most excited about is a good old-fashioned picnic in the park. Whole Foods Market sells some great filled baguettes and their snacks and drinks feel like much more of a treat than a supermarket meal deal.

My wife and I have also been eyeing up the rooftop bar at Aqua Nueva so I’m hoping we’ll get a child-free evening to try it out!

Aqua Nueva is also hosting a collaboration with Casamigos Tequila throughout the summer, transforming the rooftop into a beach club-inspired terrace bar for the season. Find out more here

I’m so excited for the World Cup this year - it’s been 8 years since the last summer tournament so the football fever is going to hit extra hard! There’s nothing better than watching England at the pub on a sunny day with complete strangers who are all cheering for it to come home, so I’m planning to head to The Starman with a couple of friends to do exactly that (sunshine TBC).

Some of London’s favourite pubs are showing England’s World Cup games this summer. Try The StarmanThe George or The Wigmore who also have a football-themed hot dog menu!

As an Italian, I’m already thinking about what food to eat this summer. Piccolino does Italian dishes really well, and the outdoor terrace is a great place to be when it’s sunny, especially with a burrata con pesto.

I also love a classic gelato, but since I saw the menu at Araw in Brityard, their Roasted Banana with Tahini Fudge ice cream flavour is calling to me.

The menus of Heddon Street’s restaurants are packed with summer specials to enjoy this season. Check out our dining guide for some ideas to get you started!

I’m planning a trip to the Greek islands over the summer so I can’t wait to see what seasonal fashion is in the shops. I’m especially excited for SKIMS to open in summer - their matching sets are ideal as a travel outfit so I’ll definitely be picking up a couple of pieces… or five.

Antler also has a summer capsule collection of travel bags, cases and packing cubes that I’m desperately trying to resist!

As a self-confessed ‘stagey’ whose career began as a performer on the West End, West End LIVE is definitely top of my summer to-do list! It’s such a fun way to get a taste of the different shows that are running at the moment and admire the incredible talent in them. There’s definitely a theatre trip in the near future for me so I’m excited to get inspired and see what tickets to buy next!

West End LIVE runs in Trafalgar Square on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June. We'll be ready and waiting to welcome you for a post-show meal at Brasserie Zédel or tipple on the terrace at Gaucho when you're done with the festivities.

With so much coming up, we can’t wait for the season ahead. Your summer starts right here, and we’ve got all you need to know about how to spend it, from London’s best ice cream to how to plan the ultimate picnic. Don’t forget to share your moments with us over on @regentstreetw1 on Instagram and TikTok - we love to see what you’re getting up to!
